ORBIS

The overarching objective of the ORBIS project (H2020-MSCA-RISE-2017; MSCA-RISE - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE), Full title: Open Research Biopharmaceutical Internships Support) is to form an international and inter-sectoral academic and industrial network. The action aims to improve the preclinical pathway of medicine development, concentrating on processes and technologies. The goal is to integrate multidisciplinary research involving academia and industry from the EU (Poland, Ireland, Finland, Germany and the Czech Republic), EU-associated countries (Ukraine) and the US.

Eight academies, one research institute and five pharmaceutical companies from nine countries have participated in this project, coordinated by Prof. Janina Lulek, MA, PhD, of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at PUMS Faculty of Pharmacy. Consortium partners are Pharmaceutical Research Institute (Poland), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), University of Helsinki (Finland), Applied Process Company Ltd. (Ireland), Farmak JSC (Ukraine), Physiolution GmbH (Germany), Zentiva k.s. (Czech Republic), University of Ljubliana (Slovenia), University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (Czech Republic), Celon Pharma JSC (Poland), Rutgers University (USA) and University of Central Florida (USA).

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 778051.
